Terms of Enrolment for Turning Point Ballet Academy
Welcome to Turning Point Ballet Academy (henceforth referred to as TPBA). By enrolling in our programs, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Enrolment and Financial Responsibility
Upon enrolment, the financially responsible person (parent, guardian, or student if over 18) is obligated to pay the monthly tuition fee, in full, upfront, by the first day of each month. An additional one-time registration fee of R150 is payable upon enrolment. Payments must be made via EFT. Late payments may incur a 10% late fee and may result in the student’s suspension from classes until the account is settled.
- Non-Refundable Fees: Tuition fees are non-refundable, except in cases of class cancellation by the school.
- Missed Classes: No refunds or credits will be issued for missed classes, though students may attend a makeup class within the same month, subject to availability.
2. Liability and Assumption of Risk
TPBA is committed to providing a safe environment for all students. However, ballet and physical activities carry inherent risks. The school, its instructors, and staff will not be liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages sustained during classes, rehearsals, performances, or on school premises. By enrolling, students and their guardians acknowledge that participation is at their own risk.
- Health and Safety: Students must disclose any medical conditions or injuries to the school prior to enrolment. The school reserves the right to refuse participation if a student’s condition poses a safety risk.
- Personal Belongings: The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
3. Attendance & Conduct
Regular attendance is essential for progress in ballet training. Students are expected to arrive on time, dressed in the appropriate attire as outlined in the TPBA dress code.
- Code of Conduct: Students must demonstrate respect toward instructors, staff, and fellow students. Disruptive behavior may result in dismissal from the program without refund.
- Absences: Please notify the school in advance of any planned absences. Excessive unexcused absences may lead to removal from performance opportunities.
4. Class Cancellations and Changes
TPBA reserves the right to cancel or modify class schedules, instructors, or locations with reasonable notice. In the event of a class cancellation by the school, a makeup class or refund will be provided.
5. Withdrawal and Termination
To withdraw from the program, the financially responsible person must provide written notice at least 30 days in advance. Tuition fees for the current month are non-refundable. The school reserves the right to terminate a student’s enrolment for non-payment, violation of the code of conduct, or other reasons deemed appropriate by the administration.
6. Photography and Media Consent
By enrolling, students and guardians grant TPBA permission to use photographs, videos, or other media taken during classes, rehearsals, or performances for promotional purposes, unless written objection is provided at the time of enrolment.
7. Dress Code and Equipment
Students must adhere to the school’s dress code, which includes,
- Tights
- Leotard
- Ballet slippers
- Hair in a bun
- No jewelery
All required attire and equipment are the responsibility of the student and are not included in the tuition fee.
